The Blackthorn is one of the most beautiful of the early spring blossoming trees making the hedgerows at this time of year,
seem to have light dusting of snow . I pass this one on my daily walk and today it was alive with the the buzzing of bees and other insects.In Autumn the tree bears a small dark fruit which is good for making sloe gin for a Christmas treat.
