Yesterday I walked out to a distant sandbar on the island of North Uist in Scotland to do some sketches. It was very windy and the sand was blowing in the air. I hadn’t been there for a couple of years due to lockdown and there seemed to be less sandbar now and more gaps. I suppose the effects of climate change can be seen quite markedly on this low lying part of the coast where there is little to stop to the advance of the sea apart from sand dunes.
