There’s an old road that winds it’s way above the southern shore of Loch Lomond through bits of birchwood and finally a long stretch of exposed moor from where the walker is rewarded by an expansive view of the loch and Ben Lomond. This is one of my favourite walks no matter what the weather is doing, sometimes the wilder the better! I have painted it often especially in the winter months with the moorland colours and stormy skies.’Light on Loch Lomond’ is currently in the Velvet Easel Gallery in Portobello in the exhibition ‘Imitation of Life’ which continues into February next year.
