The Old Road

There’s an old road that winds it’s way above the southern shore of Loch Lomond through bits of birchwood and finally a long stretch of exposed moor from where the walker is rewarded by an expansive view of the loch and Ben Lomond. New Beginings.

In the midst of Winter it is helpfull to look forward to the next Spring season. I often walk near my home around the old estate of Mugdock where ancient oak woodlands are carpeted in bluebells in the Spring. As subject matter they are fantastic to paint with their gorgeous colours of greens and blues.’Spring Woodland’ is one of these works and at the moment is exhibited  at the Smithy Gallery in Strathbl
